If you’ve been on the Ninja Creami train lately, you already know: it’s kind of life-changing. I’ve been experimenting with high-protein recipes that still feel like dessert — and this chocolate peanut butter combo might be my favorite so far.
It’s rich, smooth, not too sweet, and the mix-ins give it that extra something. I usually have this post-dinner, post-workout, or honestly whenever I just want something that feels like a treat without the sugar crash.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
Creamy and satisfying — not icy or chalky 🍦
Great way to use up protein powder
Easy to make dairy-free or vegan
Keeps you full longer than most desserts
Prep Time: 5 minutes I Freeze Time: 24h I 1 pint
Ingredients
Ice Cream Base
250ml unsweetened almond milk
2–3 tbsp Greek yogurt or Skyr (for creaminess + protein)
40g vanilla protein powder (whey or plant-based)
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa or cacao powder
1 tbsp maple syrup (or more to taste)
Optional: ¼ tsp vanilla extract or pinch of salt
Add-Ins:
1 tsp natural peanut butter (melt slightly for swirl)
1–2 waffle cookies (Eiswaffeln, crushed)
1 square (10–15g) dark chocolate, chopped
Instructions:
Blend all base ingredients until fully smooth.
Pour into Ninja Creami container, freeze flat for 24 hours.
Spin using "Lite Ice Cream" or "Smoothie Bowl" mode.
If crumbly, add 1–2 tbsp almond milk and re-spin.
Add mix-ins (peanut butter, waffle pieces, chocolate) using “Mix-in” mode or stir manually.
Serve immediately — and enjoy!! 🥜🍫
Tips & Notes
Let the frozen base sit at room temp for ~10 min before spinning. It helps with texture.
Use a powerful blender so your base is really smooth before freezing.
You can skip the waffle cookie or chocolate if you want it simpler — but they do add a nice crunch.
Don’t overdo the mix-ins or it gets hard to spin again later.
Substitutions & Variations
No almond milk? Oat, soy, or dairy milk all work.
For a vegan version, use dairy-free yogurt and plant protein.
No maple syrup? Try agave, honey, or stevia/erythritol (just use less).
Swap peanut butter for almond butter, cashew butter, or even Nutella (if you're going off script).
